Tales of Destiny (PS2) - EX Boss 11: Barbatos - Chaos Mode

「アイテムなぞ使ってんじゃねえ!」 Sorry Barbatos, but I’ll use items even if it means the rest of my party gets killed, do I really need those guys anyway? Anyway, this is the last boss of the EX Dungeon, and the highest level boss in the game, level 200. After several strategy changes, and more attempts than I’d like, I’ve beaten him. It turns out that Physical Material has the sound element, which is Barbatos’ weak point, so I started off each combo in this video with it. I had hoped to have …

Yeah, this game is fun, but Abyss had a better story xD Maybe if they combined this battle system with Abyss’s story, that would be badass.

You know, I’m really having trouble in DC since flash is like, not that useful now and the blast bar of the enemies fills so damn quick. Everything is a LOT harder

Unfortunately, I don’t have three other people who would play the game with me.
But, I might be able to get my brother to help me with it, with two people I might be able to keep most of the party alive.

I’ll ask him later if he’s up too it.

I would love to see you try to keep the party relatively intact and beat him. If you had three other people on the other character’s control, you might be able to pull it off. You control Rutee, and they control the attacking group. You spam Raise Dead on High Speed while they smack down Barbartos continously.

The bug is that for some reason the enemys will start the battle 1 HP lower than their Max HP.
Like Barbatos starting at 1199999 instead of 1200000, or Kokumotsu starting at 23999 instead of 24000.

    what was the bug?

I still have one more Sound Mode video left to record, and I was thinking about doing a couple of videos with Narikiri characters against the final boss.

I don’t have to imagine, I’ve seen a video of 4 Johnnys using nothing but that attack on Barbatos, I think Nore139 did it.

I may do some single player battles against Barbatos, we’ll see.

  19. Jeffrey6978 on November 11th, 2009

Yeah, I noticed that, probably a bug in the battle programming that they didn’t find before release. (Not like 1 HP makes much difference to a battle though.)

  20. Jeffrey6978 on November 11th, 2009

Yeah, soloing him is way easier, so it’s not surprising there are alot of solo vids against him.

I was going to do the whole battle with my party, but I was having to spam Raise Dead like crazy just to keep them alive… (and eventually Barbatos 1-hit-killed me, while trying to bring them back)

So I just decided have them get killed by giving me Max HP boosting and anti-status effect items.

Well, he does give you 300 of each lens.
Which I needed much more than EXP (all of my characters are at/near the max level) or Gald (I got tons of it already).

With the lens, I was able to rerise some more rare armor for my party.

This had to be Wakamoto’s best voice role ever! And this has to be your best battle ever! Nice, I look forward to your ToR videos (I wanna see more of Eugene)

  23. JoyalKarl on November 11th, 2009

i thought its was 250 at first, no matter, still high enough.

  24. NeoseekerDarkKnight on November 11th, 2009

This due is insane…. and yet people love him?

So… what more could you possibly record with TOD?

  25. Isaac232 on November 11th, 2009

Hey why is it that all the enemies start off with 1 less HP than their starting HP? He had 1199999 HP, that’s not right!
