My day at work
This video is of me doing what i do best, i work (Volenteer) for the south carolina railroad museum in Winnsboro Sc, this shows me doing one of the many things i do, im the cab car operator of EX CN car 6746 and it is my job to blow the horn and ring the bell for the railroad crossing on the return trip back to Rockton (the station), my buddy Chris Rambo is filming me, Sorry if i talk to much but everytime i do this stuff i get so excited. I LOVE MY JOB!!!…
nice
You look young. I would do it if I had a museam by me I am only 15:P I know hwo to drive trains and I am a pilotL:D
i’d love your job mate
Because the museum doesnt want toi take the chance and go thought possibley hitting a car, even tho the FRA doesnt tekll us to stop the museums rules state that the train has to stop and flag any major highway with out gates.
You have cross bucks on the side, why do you have to stop and get out. Sound the horn? Sh*T even with gates you still have idiots who run through the gates.
yeah, on a good day we get 4 trains a day going by on the mian line, NS 155 156 337 and 338. but as to seeing them on the siding yes ive seen a work trainand loram railgrinder in the siding tied down. and one time a NS coal train went on the law right in front of the museum on the main line
do you ever see NS trains on the siding or anything?
Thats what i said.
It’s a K-3L
I’m a UK train driver (engineer) and a volunteer on a preserved line like yourself. Just wanted to say Hi from across the pond, its nice to see someone who enjoys working on the railway as much as you clearly do. Thanks for posting!
Nice K3LA
it is an Ex CN Cab/Coach that use to be powerd by over head wire’s. the pantographs have been removed, followed by a Diner car and a SW8 locomotive. and all the cars are painted green.
what kind of car are you blowing the horn in and what does the whole train look like?
Looks like a fun job to do! Although I feel the flag people are overkill, if you slow the train down and some idiot driver can’t slow down, look, and/or hear the horn and bell, the deserve to get hit. Other then protecting stupid people, awesome video!
how do you get that job ?”
the engineer just wanted to blow his horn, different engineers up here do different things as you can see.
Why are there 2 horns blowing.
kinda bad track
nice video
yeah, The horn im blowing is a k3la and the horn on the locomotive is a P3.
Sounds like a P5
yeah the first mile i think is 100 pound rail because Norfolk Southern shares the line to go service the fiberglass plant. then the rest is 80 pound rail.
That is some very nice well maintained Track.
Great video, but too much radio traffic.
Hey, can you give me your email? I have a whole load of questions to ask, because I need to know more about this job.
